F.A.Q

1. Will PLN allow the operations of Rooftop Solar Panel (PLTS Atap), since it will reduce PLN's revenue?
PLTS Atap is regulated by the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources, so there are no problems with PLN.

2. How does a PLTS Atap work / does it replace the PLN?
This system works in parallel with PLN. Not replacing PLN but only reducing PLN usage during production by synchronizing the production of PLTS Roof with PLN.

3. How many hours of PLTS Atap can be operated?
This system operates around 06.00 - 18.00, but during these hours, the energy generated will vary depending on the intensity and the position of the sun.

4. If the electricity from PLN is black out, can PLTS Atap produce the electricity?
Since the PLTS Atap works in parallel and requires an electricity quality reference, when the PLN is black out, the system will also shut down because the PLN reference becomes numb/zero.

5. When the generator is on, will the PLTS Atap still operate?
The capacity of the generator must be much greater than the capacity of the installed PLTS Atap so that it can work automatically. PLTS Atap follows the grid code standard. So, if your generator also follows the grid code standard, then when the generator is operating, the PLTS Atap will also operate.

6. How many % of electricity consumption can I generate from a PLTS Atap?
Depending on your load profile, the available area in your roof, and your location (regarding the level of sunlight exposure), a PV Rooftop can generate around 25 - 30% of your current electricity consumption.

7. How long do solar panels/inverters/systems last?
Solar panels have a 25 year performance guarantee and even the first panels from the 1970s are still running. Inverters can last for 8 - 10 years. If you use the Xurya Lease scheme, then all material repairs and replacements are included in the Lease agreement.

8. How much does it cost to maintain a PLTS Atap and how often is maintenance will be done?
It’s free during the lease period with the Xurya Lease and Flexi Lease options. In general, it will be done at least once in 3 months.

9. What kind of maintenance will Xurya do?
Xurya will do regular cleaning and inspection. Equipment repair and replacement if needed.

10. What about the quality of electricity from the PLTS Atap?
The inverter will operate according to the standard used by PLN. So that the power quality from the inverter (PLTS Atap) will be in sync with PLN and will automatically turn off if there is a disturbance in the PLN electricity network.

11. Will PLTS Atap interfere with the PLN electricity grid?
We only use inverters that match the PLN network code, meaning that the inverter will synchronize with the PLN power, and automatically shut down if there is a problem in the PLN electricity network.

12. Can I install PLTS on vacant land / fields?
Yes, you can. (Please note there will be additional fees on the structure).

13. Does PLTS Atap affect the quality of the roof?
No. We use an installation method that does not damage the roof. It can use clip-on, L-fit, or ballast.

14. What if the customer wants to repair/replace the roof during the rental period?
We only install PLTS Atap on roofs that have good quality. If the customer wants to replace the roof during the rental period, we can help remove and reinstall the PLTS Atap but the costs will be borne by the customer.

15. How many square meters are needed for solar panels?
In general, solar panels have an area of 2 square meters (2 m x 1 m) for a capacity of 450 Wp. However, considering the need for maintenance, for a capacity of 1 kWp, a roof area of around 7-10 square meters is required.

16. How heavy is the solar panel? Can my roof support it?
The weight of the solar panel is about 15 kg per square meter (including the structure). Solar panels are installed above the curtains, so that the supporting strength comes from the structure, not the roof. If someone can climb onto your roof, then your roof can definitely support solar panels.

17. Do solar panels cause glare? (frequently asked for the location near airport)
There is no glare effect from solar panels because solar panels absorb the light and do not reflect the light.

18. How large is the volume of the inverter and are there any special requirements for its placement?
We use “string inverters”, which are usually 1.0 m x 0.5 m x 0.3 m, and weigh around 15 - 20 kg. In general, “string inverters” can be mounted on the wall using brackets. (The wall must be strong enough to hold the load of this inverter).

19. What permits/licenses do PLTS Atap require?
Operational Permit for Inverters of size above 500 KVA.
