Xurya, a renewable energy startup that pioneered the Rp 0.- method in financing Solar Rooftop (PLTS Atap), continues to contribute and support the clean energy transition in Indonesia. This is demonstrated by Xurya's registration of assets and ownership of Renewable Energy Certification (REC) since 2021.

Renewable Energy Certification is an instrument that proves that electricity production per megawatt-hour (MWh) comes from a power plant that utilizes renewable energy, which in this case is the PLTS Atap.

N. Edwin Widjonarko, Xurya's Director of Technology explained, "Xurya is committed to continue to support the renewable energy transition in Indonesia. Through the asset registration that has been carried out by Xurya since 2021, it is hoped that Xurya can provide more options and become a solution for industry players in maximizing the use of renewable energy in Indonesia, as well as contributing to realizing net zero emissions in 2060."

Indonesia has great potential in utilizing renewable energy, especially for solar energy, considering that Indonesia is a tropical country which always gets sunlight almost all year round.

The presence of this renewable energy certification (REC) can maximize the potential for renewable energy usage in Indonesia and become an innovation in the energy sector to achieve the target of 23% of the clean energy mix by 2025.

Until 2023, as many as 19 assets of Xurya’s PLTS Atap project have received renewable energy certification with a total power generated of 25,000 MWh. This is proof that renewable energy certification is welcomed by the industry and becomes one of the innovations that can support the growth in the utilization of renewable energy.

"We will continue to carry out various other innovations to support the renewable energy transition in Indonesia. In the future, we also aim to be able to register more of our PLTS Atap assets, so that they can then be utilized for the benefit of renewable energy growth in Indonesia." Edwin.

To date, Xurya already has more than 130 PLTS Atap projects spread across Medan, Palembang, Lampung, West Java, Banten, DKI Jakarta, Central Java, East Java, Bali and Makassar. Xurya’s PLTS Atap project has succeeded in producing more than 120 million kWh of clean energy and creating more than 2,900 green jobs available.
